The highlight was the Pan Am Railways appearance of the twin FP9 locomotives usually reserved for the office car special.   • In preparation for the circus train move on Monday, Pan Am added both of the FP9 locomotives normally used on the office car special to Westbound train WAAY (Waterville, Maine to Ayer, Massachusetts). This would allow them to be moved toward Worcester. They will be utilized to lead the Circus train North to Manchester. The train is seen here in Lowell, 4-15-17.

  • Pan AM power lead by FP9 PAR 2 heads South light over the Wachusett Reservoir bound for Worcester. The engines will meet at Barbers with the Providence & Worcester and take the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus train to Manchester, NH with FP9 PAR 1 leading, 4-17-17.
  • Providence & Worcester brings to the Circus Extra through downtown Worcester to interchange with Pan Am at Barbers, 4-17-17.

  • PAR 2 lead the light engines South out of Ayer to interchange with the Providence & Worcester and pick up the Circus Extra which is bound for Manchester, NH, 4-17-17.
