  • The iconic Pennsylvania Railroad color position light signals have stood on the Pittsburg Line since the days of steam and have seen four railroads. Sadly, they are all being replaced in favor of modern positive train control cab signals. The signals milepost 225 in Tipton are rumored to fall within the next week. On this beautiful Sunday morning, Eastbound manifest train 12G knocks down 225 just after a crew change in Altoona, 4-7-19.

  • After successfully capturing this train at Horseshoe curve, our group raced West to Summerhill to capture the Conrail heritage unit leading under the historic and soon to be extinct color position lights. We set up on the bridge and patiently waited for what was looking to be a perfectly lit shot. Just before our train showed up an Eastbound stack train followed by a cloud ruined the entire set up. A quick shift to the other side of the bridge produced this "better than nothing" image, 4-6-19.
