The Horseshoe Curve is located just outside Altoona in Logan Township. It was completed by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1852. The curve is 2,375 feet long and 1,300 feet in diameter. Today it is part of Norfolk Southern's very busy Pittsburg Line, 4-5-17.
