Canadian Pacific Train 250 is seen crossing the East Outlet of Moosehead Lake. The CP purchased this line from Central Maine Quebec last year and acquired the SD40-2F locomotives in the sale.   • Canadian Pacific train 142 is seen approaching Greenville Junction slowing down for a MOW crew. The Bangor & Aroostook once interchanged with the Canadian Pacific at this location. The Montreal to Brownville Junction train is on the final leg of its tri. Once arriving in Brownville the train will switch out its cars and return West as train 251 with a fresh crew, 12-29-21.
  • Canadian Pacific train 142 is seen crossing the East Outlet of Moosehead Lake on a dreary late December afternoon. The Quebec to Brownville Junction mixed freight made a stop in Jackman to change Canadian to American crews and also to swap out some international containers before proceeding East, 12-29-21.
  • Canadian Pacific train 142 is seen rounding Parlin Stream Curve at Long Pond, Maine. The Montreal, Quebec to Brownville Junction, Maine freight, and Westbound counterpart 251 run roughly five times a week, 12-29-21.

  • Amtrak 145, painted for the 40th anniversary of Amtrak in 2011 is seen standing by on protect duty in Portland, 11-4-21.
  • The New Hampshire Northcoast crew is seen taking the empty hoppers back to the pit in Ossipee on the old Boston & Maine Conway Branch. The train is crossing from Lebanon, Maine back into Milton, New Hampshire. The trackage on the Maine side of the Salmon Falls River is brief, 8-6-21.
  • Amtrak Downeaster 684 is seen at Scarborough, 5-18-21.
  • Eastbound Amtrak Downeaster 681 is seen crossing the salt marsh in Scarborough with a non-powered cab/baggage unit bringing up the markers, 5-18-21.

The daily train to Waterville Yard is seen returning back up the branch to the mill. The route is just a few miles, but the track speed makes for an easy chase. Ironically this line was originally Canadian Pacific before being sold 20 years ago. Likewise, the SD40-2F locomotives were built for the CP in 1988. They were purchased by the CMQ in 2015. Greenville is a popular place during Winter as it is nestled at the Southern edge of Moosehead Lake. Snowmobile riders and ice fisherman are frequent sights. In the background, snowmobile races are being held on the frozen lake, 2-20-21.
