Pan Am Railways office car special is seen passing CPF-297 in Tewksbury. The sleeper car which is the first car behind the locomotives has recently been painted from its former CSX blue to match the rest of the consist. The train is headed for Westford with several VIPs, 5-20-20.

Pan Am Railways office car special is seen passing CPF-297 in Tewksbury. The sleeper car which is the first car behind the locomotives has recently been painted from its former CSX blue to match the rest of the consist. The train is headed for Westford with several VIPs, 5-20-20.

  • POED is seen heading through Westford with the East Deerfield cut of cars. The Ayer cars were bought directly to the yard with 2 of the engines The crew then ran the engines back light to NC to pick up the third engine and the East Deerfield cars. This complicated move is not standard practice but there was concern as to whether the larger then normal train would fit in the usual siding where cars are set off, 6-18-20.

Although this spot along Chelsea Creek requires some effort (and a good pair of boots) to access, it yields some nice photo ops with the short trestle and remains of the Forbes Industrial Park in the background. This twice a week job is the only freight train left on the old Boston & Maine Eastern Route, 6-18-20.
  • Pan Am Boston local BO-1 has just pulled 6 loads out of the Coke Works in Everett. They are seen pulling up to Draw 7 crossing the Mystic River to run around their train then head East to Salem where they will proceed down the branch line to Rousselot in Peabody, 6-18-20.
