The power for 23K is seen passing the platform in Ayer, about to run around the wye. The ES40DC is rather ratty looking, to say the least, 9-30-20.

  • A later than usual POAY (Portland, Maine to Ayer, Massachusetts) is seen splitting the signals at Vale in Andover, 10-25-20.
  • Pan Am POAY is seen tied down in Lowell among some peak foliage. Instead of the usual manifest this job usually has, this edition was loads of self-propelled Howitzers that are traveling from Maine to California. The fate of the decommissioned artillery is unknown, but it will likely be deemed surplus or destroyed in training exercises, 10-23-20.

Normally I do not like such a high and steep drone angle, but in this case there was little choice. The train was parked in this tree tunnel and was not recrewed until after dark, 10-23-20.

The Hoosac Tunnel is one of the most famous locations on the system.
