Wakefield, MA - 7th Alarm, 8 Lafayette Street

Wakefield Fire Department with very extensive mutual aide fought this fire in a large wood frame church. The fire was apparently caused by a lightning strike after a severe storm front rolled through the area. Although companies initilaly made an aggressive interior attack, they were forced out of the building by heavy fire conditions and imminent collapse.
