Cambridge, MA - 3rd Alarm, 50 Follen Street, 3-5-18
The third alarm was ordered for the fire at 50 Follen Street, a large, 5 story (with penthouse), brick and wood, occupied multiple dwelling. There are approximately 100 apartments in the building. Fire was contained to the top floor and penthouse and the occupants of 7 apartments were displaced. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The time of the initial alarm was 2031 hours on 5 March 2018.
Thanks to the aggressive interior attack of the firefighters, all occupants were safely evacuated and attack lines were placed into operation. Ladder companies successfully placed aerial ladders in spite of MBTA trackless-trolley wires.
