Melrose, MA - 4th Alarm, 43 Baxter Street, 2-3-08
As firefighters in Melrose were sitting down getting ready to watch the Superbowl on February 3rd, calls began coming in for a house fire at 43 Baxter Street. On the arrival of Ladder 1, Captain McCarthy struck a quick second alarm, followed shortly by a third alarm. Companies had heavy fire on floor one of a two and half story wood frame house, extending to floors two and three. Chief O'Brien arrived on scene and assumed command. A fourth alarm was struck for manpower. Extensive mutual aide was utilized to bring the fire under control.
